Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophie Kinsella

Meet Emma Corrigan, a young, and warm-hearted woman with few little secrets that she cannot tell:

Her boyfriend: I always think that Connor looks a bit like Ken, as in Barbie and Ken.
Her mom: I lost my virginity to Danny in the guest room.
Her flatmate: I had lesbian fantasy with her in one of my dreams.
Her colleagues: It was me who jam the photocopier this time, all the time actually. And it was me who water Artemis' spider plant with orange juice. And I broke my boss' World Cup mug.
Secrets she wouldn't share with anyone: My Kate Spade bag is actually a fake. And I have no idea what NATO stands for. And I got all my branded clothes from a thrift shop.

And the list goes on...

Until one day she spilled them all out to a handsome, businessman on a plane, she thought he was a stranger at first. Until when she come face-to-face with Jack Harper, a man who knew every single humiliating detail about her...

The book isn't as bad as everyone thinks, Sophie Kinsella is just so hilarious.
I'm now on another book:

Yoo hooo! Can't wait to finish ALL Sophie Kinsella's books!

Earth Hour

Everyone seemed to be co-operating today. I was stuck at work at 8.30pm, but at least I got a call from my manager in the afternoon, telling me to switched off some lights, yea, at least something.

On the other hand, me and my supervisor went out to the Sunway Pyramid main entrance to sign some Earth Hour posters, during our working time, I may add. See how supportive we are?

I had a hard time looking for space to sign my name.

And this is what I got for signing the posters!

Yeah, kind of dull isn't it? It glows in the dark by the way.

The Mystery of the Bermuda Triangle

Ever wonder why all planes and ships mysteriously disappeared at the Bermuda Triangle region? In my ENG101 research paper, I found some information on it and I shall share it with all my loyal readers =)

The U.S. Board of Geographic does not assume the name Bermuda Triangle as an official name. It is an imaginary region located off the southeastern Atlantic coast of the United States, which is noted for a high incidence of unexplained losses of ships, small boats, and aircraft.

One of the most popular stories is the strange disappearance of Flight 19. On the faithful day of December 5th, 1945, five planes flew across the Bermuda - also known as Devil's Triangle. There were approximately 14 men on the planes, but none of them returned home. One of the pilots were heard on his radio right before they disappeared, he was saying that their compasses had stopped working, and they had no idea where they were. Nobody ever found their bodies or the parts of the planes. Strange huh? The planes of men were flew off there to seek for the disappeared Flight 19 did not return either. After that, the legend of the Bermuda Triangle has begun.

There were also many strange stories. According to a source, there were approximately more than 50 ships and 20 planes has mysteriously disappeared in the last 100 years. The mystery grew and grew.

There were a lot of natural explanations from different sources. According to a source, it was said that the weather in the Atlantic is very unpredictable, too many sudden storms. On the other hand, the ocean suddenly became incredibly deep. Often owners of the ships do not know the dangers there themselves.

There were also sayings that many disappearance occurred outside the region of the Bermuda Triangle. And the number of disappearance for a humongous area like Bermuda Triangle is not surprising.

But what about Flight 19?

There may be storms, the plane did not have the modern equipments, they could have went out of fuel and crashed somewhere in the ocean. Just a possibility. Another result I have found somewhere, the number of disappearance were not greater, it was just simply exaggerated by some source (Kusche, Lawrence David, 1975). According to Prof Joseph Monaghan from Monash University in Australia, pockets of methane gas, also known as methane gas hydrates, is under the Bermuda Triangle region. When it is being distracted by planes or boats or ships, it would blow up. The release of methane gas, would also cause the ships or planes to sink.

However, for some reasons, there will always be a mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.

Nike Terminator Supreme High

This is the only Nike shoes I regretted not buying. Saw this beauty at The Curve, for some reasons I didn't buy it, damn.

This shoe comes in a gold and black color scheme and it features some gold studs on the top of the heel!

Besides, it also comes with a metal label shaped like a guitar pick.

See how beautiful in this? God. It's so hard to get them now, sold out everywhere.
I think my next target is also a Terminator High. Looks so cool.

Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

I'm currently reading the Shopaholic series. Yes I know I'm a bit late.

It is about a girl, Rebecca Bloomwood, a financial journalist, is obsessed with shopping. She has a wardrobe full of latest must-haves, Prada, DKNY, Chanel, Denny & George etc. The truth is, she actually cannot afford any of it. Her job not only bored her to tears, and it doesn't pay much. She has been receiving several warning letters from Endwich Bank & VISA bills. She knows she has made a mistake. So she tried Cutting Back and Make More Money... but they don't seem helpful. This famous bestseller is now a major motion picture.

I finished 3 books in just 1 week!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Shopaholic takes Manhattan

Shopaholic Ties the Knot

I am now reading the 4th book:

Shopaholic and Sister

Next:

Shopaholic and Baby

Or you can watch the movie trailer here:

What a great start

I had midterm exam for accounting 2 today, which I think I did okay. No worries for that.
As I arrived at college this morning, I tried to calm myself, I mean, not to let anything affect my mood, which also including arguing with someone, it can ruin my morning mood.
When I stepped in to the lobby, I headed straight to the grand stairs that leads to first floor cafeteria. Before that of course talking to counselor about some serious stuff. Great, another orientation to do. =.=
I ordered a cup of coffee, I slept quite late last night, not studying, trying to finish my Shopaholic novel (which I didn't manage to finish it). Then collected a copy of Wall Street Journal to read. And also revising at the same time too. Okay, at this stage my morning was just so far so good.
But then came the bad news, i was talking to Ah Chan in SC room, about some serious stuff of course. He informed me about some old member is going to conduct the next meeting. I felt like a huge rock suddenly fell on my shoulders, because I know what exactly will happen during that meeting. I just shook my head at him and kept mumbling "This is great". There are a few things that are not nice to pour it all out here, as this thingy is kind of P&C. So all I can say here is, I really hope that everything will be sorted out soon, because I am really tired of all this.

I'm Gone-Jay Sean

This song just stuck in my head, can't take it out. The acoustic version is just so nice.

I don't want to have to see you happy.
I can't even bare to see you smile.
Nowadays I can't look in your eyes
Well I can but it takes a while to show,
Told a lot of white lies to hide it all.
But they're beginning to break me down,
But I promise it's over now.

I'm gone.
I don't blame you at all.
'Cause after all the things that you did for me
I got beaten by temptation
I'm gone.
Girl you're better off alone.
I don't want you to see, the truth in me.

Try my best to keep it all together.
Tryna take it back to where we were.
Never been too good at keeping secrets,
I'll give you reasons for what it's worth let me go.
What the hell would make you look at me the same?
Used to say "We're unbreakeable."
But I just went and changed it all.

See, if I told you?
Could you live with that?
If I told you?
Could you live with that?
If I told you,
I couldn't live with that, I couldn't live with that.
No.
I'd rather give you no excuses at all.

I'm gone.
I don't blame you at all.
'Cause after all the things that you did for me
I got beaten by temptation
I'm gone.
Girl you're better off alone.
I don't want you to see, the truth in me.

You gave everything & honestly it's every fault of mine.
To beg you for forgiveness just seems wrong.
See, leaving you is one thing
But you've got to realize:
Some things are best unspoken
So please don't ask me why...

I'm gone.
I don't blame you at all.
'Cause after all the things that you did for me
Got beaten by temptation
I'm gone.
Girl you're better off alone.
I don't want you to see, the truth in me.
That's why I'm gone.
Bye bye,
I'm gone.
