MUET @ SEGi Kota Damansara (Part 1)

I took the reading, listening and writing test. Speaking is on the 7th May. Went all the way to the main campus. Goodness, the place still look amazing even though that I've been there several times. It's just so huge!

These pics were taken at 7am.

See that tower clock? Just look at the space.

See that swimming pool?

That's the building for the student lounge and cafeteria between the stairs. Fifi said the food there taste better than the Subang Campus. Lol.

Not many pics taken, I was there for exam anyway, not sight-seeing.

End of the world?

News source: Here (In Chinese version)

Shocking predictions!

According the scientists from the United States, by September 22 2012, it was predicted that after 3 years, our Earth will meet with the worst Solar Storm from the Sun ever. In just 90 seconds, our Earth will be in total darkness.

What is Solar Storm?

Solar storm is caused by the Sun's excessive solar power, spreads out very huge amount of electrical elements. In the air of solar storm, the main source is the electrical elements. These elements will strike through the universe with the speed of 15,000,000 to 30,000,000 kilometers per hour to the Earth, will also affect the air temperature. This will cause the diseases and viruses to spread easily.

The extremely high solar power from the Sun, will affect the Earth's magnetic field.

An article in the latest issue of "New Scientist", it was said that on September 22, 2012 midnight, aurora will appear in the sky of New York Manhattan. Few seconds later all lights or bulbs will start to blink, then suddenly very bright, the next second, all lights will be out. In just 90 seconds, the whole NY area will be in total darkness.

This might sound like a bit of bullshit (or maybe even total bullshit) to you guys, but according to the reports from the science centre, when the solar storm strikes, there is a great possibility that all these will occur.

Usually, every 11 years there will be an "active" period of the solar storm. This coming solar storm will occur after the spring season or the autumn season. Places like North America, Europe, China etc will be affected.

History of Solar Storm

It was on the year of 1859, and it lasted for about like 8 days. Every places on Earth, the sky was lighted with white lights, which resulted in the biological clock of human being was screwed up. Fortunately, during that year, not many technologies and electrics were used. Which was why it didn't affect THAT much.

March 13, 1989, human beings on Earth were badly affected by the solar storm. The U.S. and Canada (north area) electrical system got burned, which caused over 90,000 people in Canada lived in total darkness. The same happened in China as well, during the year of 2001 April 10th, there was no electricity in few states for half an hour.

October 23rd, 2003, solar storm broke out in Beijing, affected various wireless operators.

God, it's so hot in here.

Signing out.

Ciao.

Veins blocked?

I was at work 2 days ago, when I felt a little pain in my left shoulder but I ignored it.

But then slowly, numbness spread down my left arm. I couldn't feel anything, and my palm was sweating really bad. I tried breathe in and out slowly but it was useless. I was panic.

Just few seconds later, my left arm turned ice cold. And it turned quite blue too.

Compared with my right arm, very big difference. The temperature, the color, and also the feeling. To be honest, i actually thought it was a sign of heart attack or something to do with the heart, and I already have heart problems, that was why I was panic.

So I called up my mom and she said maybe its because of the stretching exercise I did just 10 minutes before, the the blood veins got twisted and blocked, I believed her.

Thanks to Nisha, a staff working at Skechers gave me a balm to massage. So Adz helped massaging my arm god, she's really good at it, miracle enough, the color turned back to normal. But, it was my right arm then which turned to blue. Not enough blood?

But then few minutes after the massage, my left arm turned blue and ice cold again. God.

I went to the doctor after work. The dr said must be my muscles or whatever, I didn't really remember. She gave 3 types of medicine, and asked me to sleep at least 8 hours a day.

The next day, Abg Wan from Skechers borrowed me a chain. Kind of looked like a watch when Nisha put it up for me on my arm. According to him, it helps the blood circulation. Miracle, I felt my veins tinggling and felt a lot better.

God. That day really scared the hell out of me.

Best friend?

Someone asked me this out of the blue: Do you have a best friend?

I answered without thinking: No. Do I even have to think?

Her mouth fell open.

Really, I don't have a best friend, maybe not yet. For my whole entire life, I remember only having one in primary school. That time we were separated into different classes, then we drifted apart. The next thing I knew, she moved to Penang without even telling me. Yea, after that I became a loner. In high school I found many good friends, friends who used to hang out in a gang together. Now all of us went to different colleges after SPM, and we sometimes still see each other.

I have plenty of really good friends until now. "Friends" used to be a sensitive topic to me, because I was many times being used by friends. Since then, I've been very careful.

But until now sometimes I'm still too blind to see which friend is good or not. Recently I've been very disappointed with a friend. Friends don't storm off without a word just like that. Friends don't call bitch to their friends just because of some silly matter. To be honest, I don't lose anything losing that friend, I finally realized.

Everyone wants a best friend to know each other's mind and situation. I envy those who has a best buddy whom they can do twin stuff with. But I really appreciate those who are very, very, very incredibly good friend to me, I'm very happy and indeed lucky to have you guys in my college life, love you guys always..

kita semakin kejam, kenapa?

A tragedy, better be a lesson for all of us.

An original article by Mohd. Ikhwan Abd. Ghani from Mastika. Translated by yours truly.

Zamry pacing around aimlessly. His mouth hasn't stopped mumbling since morning. After the car accident, he was no longer the same person. He was cheerful, easy to approach and talkative. But now, he's hot-tempered, gloomy, and quiet. Other people in the village were afraid to approach him.

Every evening he would pace around the village. The 25 year-old young man's mood worked just like the weather. Sometimes cheerful and calm, sometimes moody and easily irritated.

His mother was very worried about her son, so she asked Wak Leman to give him a job and Wak Leman agreed to take Zamry as a home builder.

The first month of his new job, Zamry went back to his old self. Happy and hardworking, often produced good work. However, after a month, he changed to the opposite. He would get irritated very easily and sometimes even refused to report to work.

One evening, Zamry was working at a roof top when Pak Ngah Derus came around and joked with him, just like what he always do.

"Zamry!!! Sit properly, will ya? Or else you'll fall and break your legs, and then you won't be that handsome anymore!" He joked followed by a tiny giggle. But Zamry just stared at him with a blank expression. To him, Pak Ngah Derus was making fun of him, but the truth is, he was only just joking.

That night, Zamry couldn't sleep. Pak Ngah Derus' words kept playing in his mind, and got furious each time thinking about it. He also couldn't stop cursing.

2 a.m., Zamry finally got up from bed and headed to Pak Ngah Derus' home after pacing for about like 1o minutes at his garden. The distance from his home to Pak Ngah Derus' place was only 70 metres, but there were no other houses nearby Pak Ngah Derus' house. When he arrived, he noticed that the front light at the stairway was on, which indicated that someone hasn't asleep yet.

Mumbling again, he made his way to the stairway, he saw an axe lying aside and without thinking twice, he picked it up and continue his way up. He was lucky enough to find everyone in the house was alseep. 4 kids of age between 5 to 10 were sleeping at the living room. Zamry stepped over them and went upstairs. He went to Pak Ngah Derus' room and slowly opened the door, he saw him sleeping soundly inside there with his wife. Zamry got even more furious when he saw him, and words were playing in his mind again. So he took steps closer and swung his axe and chopped his neck.

"Allahuakhbar!" Pak Ngah Derus screamed.

His wife woke up from her sleep and was shocked to see her husband being chopped again and again, so she screamed. To shut her up, Zamry chopped her as well.

Their eldest daughter, Intan, heard screams and went to her parents' room to see what was going on. She was shocked to see her parents covered in a pool of blood. She ran downstairs to get some help. Just as she placed her hand on the door knob, Zamry chopped her from the back before she could turn around.

The other 4 grandchildren was still sleeping soundly, not knowing what on earth was happening. Zamry was cruel enough to get close to them and ...

ZAPPP... ZAPPP... ZAPPP... ZAPPP...

The kids screamed just as Zamry chopped them one by one. He'd already lost his mind. After he finished, he laughed with himself.

The next afternoon, Jamil, Pak Ngah Derus' eldest son, came to the house to visit his 4 children. He felt a little strange to see the front light still on even though it was already 2 p.m.. Jamil shouted greetings at the door few times but only greeted with silence. After that he heard soft and weak groans and tiny cries coming from the house. He had no choice but to break in. He nearly dropped dead to see his sister, Intan was dead lying at the doorstep covered in a pool of dried blood.

Heart thumping, he then ran upstairs panickly and wailed when he saw his 4 kids lying on the floor, barely alive. Luckily, 2 of them was still alive. He immediately called the police and ambulance, they arrived 30 minutes later. In the mean time waiting for the police, he found his parents dead in their room, also covered with blood as if they'd just had a blood bath.

The police found the axe with blood and believed that it was used as a weapon. And they later instantly found out the killer.

Zamry went missing after committing the crime. News spread around the village and no one dared to step out of their homes. Sundry shops and coffee shops were all closed as well.

3 days later Zamry was successfully captured after was found hiding in a small jungle. He later admitted the crime, and was sentenced to death. They call it "Gantung sampai mati". This tragedy is now still fresh in the residents' minds as if it just happened the day before.

Note: This happened during the year of 1998, in a small state located at the west. There were 7 family members in that house, 5 were found dead (Pak Ngah Derus, wife, Intan and 2 grandchildren), and 2 were seriously injured (2 other grandchildren). This true story was told by a resident in that village to the Mastika journalist.

Lesson learnt: Don't ever look down on people with mental problems. This is a serious problem and it is getting worse day by day. Seek treatment at once before anything bad happens.

Thanks for the memories by Cecelia Ahern

My first book from Cecelia Ahern, the author of the best-selling PS I Love You. Thanks for the memories.

I have to admit. This book is so different from others best-sellers. You have to read it to understand exactly what I mean.

Joyce Conway had lost her baby after falling down from stairs, and lost a lot of blood. When she wakes up in the hospital, she is no longer the old Joyce anymore. She remembers things she shouldn't. She knows about art, all sorts of other skills and knowledge which she did not know of. She also knows about places she never visited. Every night she dreams about an unknown little girl with blonde hair.

Justin Hitchcock is divorced, lonely and restless. He flies to Dublin, Ireland as a guest lecturer on art. He's then persuaded to donate blood. It's his first time, and first thing that come straight from his heart in a long time.

When Joyce leaves the hospital, her life is all different than before. She is no longer the same person. She divorced her husband and moves in to her dad's place. All the while, a strong sense of deja vu os overwhelming her and she cannot figure out why... How can you know someone you've never met?

The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

Besides her latest, Remember Me, is already her best book of all, another one which I've just finished, The Undomestic Goddess, is also another good one, is very much different compared to her other books, better than Shopaholic too.

Meet Samantha Sweeting, a 29-year-old high-flying lawyer. She loved her job as a lawyer, she loved the adrenaline rush when arguing at the court and getting her hands on a contract. Her dream was getting a partnership at Carter Spink, the best law firm in London. But she has made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck her chances in getting the partnership, or even worse, her career will be in trouble. Samantha got panic, took a train and ended up in the middle of nowhere. She tried to asked for directions and a glass of water at a mansion, but she was being mistaken as a housekeeper. The owner of the mansion has no idea that they had hired a lawyer. Samantha's life has changed once she got her new job as a housekeeper. She has no idea how to bake a cake, or how to iron the clothes, or how to work the &%^*@# microwave oven.. But her new life is just as delicious as the bread she learns to bake. Will her old life catch up with her? Will she ever find love? If her old life and career catch up with her, will she still want it back?

Sophie Kinsella's books are just amazing. Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, Shopaholic Ties The Knot, Shopaholic And Sister, Shopaholic and Baby, Can You Keep A Secret?, The Undomestic Goddess, and also including her latest, Remember Me. I've finished all of them! Yay!

Speaking of Remember Me, now I think back, I did not do any review or whatever on Remember Me. So here it is:

Lexi Smart woke up in a hospital. From what she remembered what happened before her accident, she was out clubbing with her best buddies, then she fell when hailing a cab, and the next thing she knew, she was in a hospital. But the truth was not that easy. She was told that she has lost 3 years of her memory, plus, she met with the accident, in her Mercedes Convertible. She thought it was a joke, because she remembered, she did not know how to drive a car. And her job couldn't even afford a Mercedes. When she looked into a mirror, she got the shock of her life, her teeth is white and perfect, she's got manicures, her hair is stunning, new set of glamorous friends, her job as a director at the successful company, and she's married. And who is this drop dead gorgeous husband? Who also happened to be a multi-millionaire? Will she cope with her "new" life? Most of all, will she ever get her memory back?

Now I'm done with Sophie Kinsella's collection. Ready to get my hands on Cecelia Ahern, the best-selling author of P.S I Love You.

I'm currently reading:

And also,

Yes, I haven't finished The Host, the story is just soo complicated!
